Home batteries, installed by the people who quote them
Store the solar you make during the day and use it at night. With the federal battery discount still available, a home battery in Melbourne has never been better value. The discount steps down again on 1 January 2027.
Why add a battery now?
- Around 30% off upfront. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes roughly 30% off the cost of an eligible battery. We apply the discount on your quote, so there's no paperwork for you.
- The discount is shrinking. The rate dropped on 1 May 2026 and is legislated to drop again on 1 January 2027. Installing before then locks in the current rate.
- Use more of your own solar. Most homes export the bulk of their daytime solar for a few cents per kWh, then buy it back in the evening at full price. A battery closes that gap.
- Blackout backup. The batteries we install can keep your essential circuits running when the grid goes down. Tell us you want backup at quote stage and we'll design it in.
How the federal battery discount works
- Your battery must be between 5 kWh and 50 kWh, on the approved product list, and installed by an accredited installer. That's us.
- The discount is based on the battery's usable capacity. From 1 May 2026 the first 14 kWh gets the full rate, 14 to 28 kWh gets 60%, and anything above that gets 15%.
- We claim the certificates on your behalf and take the value off your invoice.
- The battery needs to be capable of joining a Virtual Power Plant, but you don't have to sign up to one.
- One discount per property. It works with new solar or added to an existing system.
Exact figures change with the certificate market. Use the government's calculator for a current estimate, or send us your bill and we'll do the sums for you.
What size do I need?
The Smart Energy Council found that over 90% of households can cover their evening peak with a 6 to 7 kWh battery. Bigger isn't always better. We look at your actual usage, your solar size and whether you have an EV or heat pump coming, then recommend the size that pays back fastest.
Batteries we install
We only install what we'd put on our own homes.
- Sigenergy SigenStor. Modular and stackable, with a built-in EV charger option. Our go-to for value and flexibility.
- Tesla Powerwall 3. The one everyone asks for. Integrated inverter and strong backup.
- Fronius Reserva. Pairs with Fronius GEN24 hybrid inverters, so it's a natural fit if you already have Fronius solar.
- Sungrow SBR. Solid, well priced, and pairs with Sungrow hybrid inverters.
Every battery we install comes with a 10-year manufacturer warranty, on top of our 10-year workmanship warranty.
Adding a battery to existing solar
Already have panels? In most cases we can add a battery without replacing your system. Depending on your current inverter we'll either fit an AC-coupled battery or swap to a hybrid inverter. We'll tell you which on the first call.
Installed by Jake and Toby. Not a subcontractor.
The people who quote your battery are the people who install it. Jake is an A-grade electrician with 8 years on the tools. We never subcontract, we don't do hidden fees, and we're accountable for every part of the job.
